In their final regular season game, the Keene State College Owls shocked the Division III women's basketball world as they defeated the sixth ranked team in the country, the University of Southern Maine Huskies, 62-50. Keene State College has applied to be part of an NCAA Division III year-round drug testing pilot program beginning in the fall, said KSC Athletic Director John Ratliff. According to an Associated Press article, the pilot program will include 115 Division III schools and will randomly test athletes throughout the year.… Post the First Comment

Senior Dan Burtis went from hauling equipment to taking jump shots with the Keene State College men's basketball team in warm-ups on Feb. 17. Burtis, the team's manager, suited up for the Owls' final regular season game and participated in the pre-game drills as part of a promise by head coach Rob Colbert.… Post the First Comment

After one of the biggest upsets in Division III basketball this season, Bri Barnes' father stood outside the Owls' locker room, clutching flowers and anxiously awaiting his star of a daughter to make an appearance. Seniors Matt Adams and Alex Laush broke from the team huddle and stepped onto the court for their first career start and last regular season game.
