You would think that workers employed at a place of higher education would have the ability and knowledge to know that if you are given the opportunity to start a union, you must take it.

When did the American people start trusting their employers so much?

If you don't unionize, you are giving up everything that people died for in trying to get them.

I am of Irish descent and feel proud that the hard work and abuse of my relatives at the turn of the century led to better working rights for people all around the world, not just in America.

Look at it now: unions are gone and the business are leaving too, off to work a third-world person to death for the price of a chicken dinner in the states.

Unions could have forced them to stay longer, or not even be able to move at all.

What ever happened to benefits? Weekends off? Religious holidays? Livable wages? They died with the unions. Who killed them? We did.

Wal-Mart just enforces policies that the bumbling American let them create.

Keene State College President Helen Giles-Gee and the administration groups of the college may be really nice and understanding people, but recession is coming and who do you think is going to lose their jobs when the going gets tough, the administration or the teachers?

Do your duty as Americans, pay a little bit more to get the job security you need and you'll probably end up making more money than you are paying in, if you do your duty as a union member.

I don't know who this person is but he should know the facts about the different groups of employees on campus and how they are represented before he speaks out. (Continued…)

Yep, sounds like the ravings of a silly old crackpot to me. I doubt Keene State professors will lose their jobs to Indonesian curriculum factories. And as far as trusting your employers, in the case of Keene State the employers are the students. (Continued…)

The two posts to this letter aren't arguing against the Union they only saying that the writer of the letter is wrong.

What is so wrong about Unions? I personally belong to one and wouldn't dare risk losing it. (Continued…)
